Our main goal for last year's debut conference was to bring together our clients to discuss the direction of our future products and technology, provide a sneak peek of Version 2.0 (and other upcoming exciting options), and, of course, receive valuable client feedback that will help keep us on the right track in the months ahead. We also wanted to give our clients a chance to get to know the PPM team, as well as other Perspective users, and over our three days at the TradeWinds Island Grand Resort, we were able to do exactly that!
The conference kicked off with an evening mixer, giving everyone in attendance the opportunity to mingle (and have a little bit of fun) before launching into two full days of conference sessions and training labs!
Our General Sessions focused on introducing our clients to Version 2.0 and its great enhancements (over 30 exciting changes to Perspective), as well as our future technology roadmap. Many of the enhancements incorporated in Version 2.0 were based on requests we received from our client base, and we were extremely pleased to demonstrate these at the conference—showing our clients how their feedback has helped make Perspective a better system.

Here are some examples of the comments we received from attendees on Version 2.0:
The conference included a number of successful Breakout Sessions, but we received overwhelmingly positive feedback on two of the sessions in particular.
The first was our sneak peek of a new Perspective add-on that will be released in Spring 2009 for Business Intelligence. While we can't give away too many details at this time, we are pleased to say that our clients confirmed that we are on the right track! This new add-on will make analyzing, reporting and charting your incident data much easier and faster!

The other session that our clients truly enjoyed was hearing about the deployment of Perspective at Delta Air Lines. If you are interested in learning more about the implementation of Perspective at the world’s largest airline, click here to request a copy.
The conference's Keynote Session on the future of security, delivered by Johnny Walker (Group Manager, Microsoft Global Security), certainly provided everyone with food for thought. The security industry is evolving at a rapid pace and organizations must keep up to assure their safety. Johnny discussed how Microsoft is advancing that change within their own organization to allow for more efficient and effective use of the state-of-the-art technology available today.
And lastly, the conference's Hands-On Training Labs were well received. They covered a variety of topics—many of them focused on Version 2.0—from forms and interface customization, to notifications and alerts. Judging from our recent survey aimed at conference attendees, these were regarded as the best part of the conference—especially our Analysis Expert classes which were full every time!
We must also mention that we enjoyed our time in the sun! It was -40 (be it Celsius or Fahrenheit) in Edmonton, so we certainly welcomed the break from winter. But while we enjoyed our time on the beach, we did feel a bit guilty about leaving our team back home!
In closing, here are some additional comments we received on the Users' Conference as a whole:
