“IT'S JUST SO COOL!”
Perspective Impresses at ASIS 2007


ASIS 2007 promised breakthrough security solutions and over 950 exhibitors. It delivered, and PPM 2000 was proud to be among the many companies featured on the show floor as security professionals searched for the solutions at the top of their “must-see” lists. Consistent with what we experienced last year, Incident and Investigation Management software is slowly moving into the mainstream as something companies are searching out. We are not as prevalent as CCTV or Access Control… yet… but we have seen a dramatic drop in the question, “Incident Management Software… so what's that?”

This year's event in Las Vegas marked PPM 2000's 19th trip to ASIS, and it was, true to form, the perfect opportunity to connect with the many security professionals challenged by information overload and ready for a more efficient way to document, monitor and analyze incident activity. With an island booth at the front of the hall, we enjoyed many repeat visitors who first stopped by for a demo, who stopped by for a second time with a colleague and who stopped by a third time just to say hello.

During ASIS, we used three demo stations to feature a fully-functional version of Perspective, our enterprise-level Incident Reporting & Investigation Management solution. We also demonstrated Perspective's Visual Analysis Module (the source of the “it's just so cool!” observation), its e-Reporting component and our newest addition, Performance Management. With only three demo stations, we frequently had a line-up, and we were appreciative of everyone's patience as they waited their turn for a first-hand look at the system. Another observation—the demonstrations ran longer than ever as viewers took advantage of the opportunity to ask a wide variety of questions and to explore every aspect of the system. (Our booth for next year has been booked, and we are already planning to enhance the demo experience with additional stations and raised monitors.)

ASIS is a once-a-year opportunity for us to meet the many clients and prospects that we speak with (and e-mail!) on a regular basis. We really enjoy having the chance to show you the latest developments in Perspective, to talk with you about what we have planned for the future and to learn what you would like to see enhanced within the system. ASIS is always about new opportunities, but, for us, a successful show is one where we are able to interact with the many clients and partners who have supported us over the years.

Our thanks also go out to our terrific PPM 2000 team who worked hard throughout the show with very few breaks and a constant stream of visitors ready to learn more about Incident Reporting & Investigation Management software. We benefited from a cross-section of PPM expertise, with our sales executives complemented by our security consultants and our Product Manager on hand to address the “tough questions.” We would like to send a special thank you out to Bradley Siddell of Trinus Technologies who helped out tremendously at our booth, sharing his knowledge of i2 and their Visual Investigative Analysis software.
