NEW WHITE PAPER
Strengthening Intelligence and Investigations with Incident Management Software.

Just published! PPM is proud to present the third and final white paper in our series on the angles of incident management. The first two papers address risk management and performance management. This one takes on intelligence and investigations. Co-authored by Brian McIlravey, CPP (PPM’s Co-CEO) and Peter Ohlhausen (former editor of Security Management magazine), they discuss how the use of specialized software to manage incident data leads to pattern recognition, actionable intelligence and a data-driven culture that prevents incidents. The paper first examines how high-level business trends (like big data) encourage the use of software for intelligence and investigative purposes. It goes on to describe how security professionals are building diverse data sets and using incident management software to identify connections that close the intelligence gap. It concludes with a look at analytical and investigative techniques currently in use among security professionals, including link analysis, timeline charting and trend spotting.

LENEL INTEGRATION
Access control event in OnGuard launches call in Perspective.

Perspective’s first out-of-the-box connector launches an integration between Perspective and Lenel OnGuard. With the connector in place, specific events in OnGuard are automatically picked up by Perspective, leading to faster and more efficient emergency response and a reduction in manual data entry. When an actionable event is triggered in OnGuard, a call is launched in Perspective’s DispatchLog interface. OnGuard events that don’t require a dispatch, but still need to be documented, can also be pulled over… this time straight into Perspective where they are logged as new activity records which can easily be escalated to incident status. Perspective’s Lenel OnGuard Connector has received Lenel factory certification, and PPM is a member of the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program (OAAP).
