integration services

As stated in my previous post, Service-Oriented Architectures have changed the way we make software here at PPM 2000. With this change came new opportunities, our largest being systems integration. Let’s start with a definition:

“In information technology, systems integration is the process of linking together different computing systems and software applications physically or functionally, to act as a coordinated whole.”

At PPM, this means that our software gets to be a part of the software eco-system running in the ‘cloud’ or at our customer’s sites.

At a recent Edmonton Training Session (ETS), I struck up a conversation with two of our attendees from the mining industry. Both were there trying to keep up with the “Changing World of Incident Management”.

They were explaining that their security department utilized nearly 20 separate information systems and I was amazed to hear that each of these systems played a key role in maintaining their security!

After I picked up my jaw from the ground, I realized that they may not be seeing what we see at PPM 2000 every day—the benefit of integration.

As we delved further into the conversation, I was sure that each of their information systems had relevant data in them. I was also sure that these information systems all had sharable information of great benefit to the security department. I was absolutely sure that this mining company could benefit from integrating the information in these systems somehow. The only thing they said was, “that would take 100 years to do”.

2012 Perspective Users' ConferenceHot on the heels of an amazing 2011 Users’ Conference, I’ve been busy laying the foundation for next year’s event.

We want to give all of our Perspective clients as much notice as possible so that you can mark your calendars and plan to attend this once-a-year training, networking and Incident Management extravaganza.

Check Out the New Brivo/PPM Cloud-to-Cloud Integration at ISC West Brivo Booth #6086 In recent months, PPM has announced a number of new partnerships. One of these partnership announcements highlighted a new integration between PPM’s Perspective and Brivo’s ACS WebService.

The integration between these two SaaS-based solutions means that select access control events can now be passed to an incident reporting system for documentation, analysis, and follow-up.

This integration is the first of its kind and we are very excited to demonstrate the value it will bring to organizations looking to connect their systems.

If you are heading to ISC West in Las Vegas from Apr 6th to the 8th, and you would like to see this integration in action, be sure to pop by the Brivo booth (#6086). Frank Kennedy, PPM’s Director of Sales, and Kevin Moore, one of PPM’s Senior Account Managers, will be present at the booth to help showcase our Perspective SaaS solution and the ACS WebService integration.

Driven by client feedback and user requests, we’re thrilled to announce the release of Perspective V.2.5 and, with it, a number of enhancements that simplify report generation, data entry and deployment while also offering new options for interoperability and integration.

A new merge tool, auto-complete feature and ability to share saved views offer convenience and time-saving tools for Perspective’s day-to-day users. More incident report options and a new yearly/quarterly/monthly report help you share data in a professional format that’s ready to go. And, with ClickOnce deployment, Perspective can now be launched from the web with a zero client footprint so that it’s easier than ever to update and maintain your Perspective system.
