With the IAHSS Conference coming up, I thought it would be fitting to sit down with our Director of Implementation Services, Dale Yushchyshyn, for a chat about how users in the Healthcare industry benefit from our incident management application. Dale has vast experience with over 20 years in the Healthcare industry and is an awarded Certified Protection Professional and former Director of Security. He was a power user of PPM’s software at Caritas Health Group (currently known as Covenant Health) prior to taking a senior position 6 years ago with PPM 2000 to run our Professional Services department.
Frank: Dale, you were a long-time user of our Incident Reporting application. Can you tell us what you used prior, and some of the reasons that led you to PPM 2000?
Dale: The system we had before moving to PPM 2000′s software was pen and paper. We had progressed from a physical typewriter to a word processor, but at the time, even getting that one computer into our office (that wasn’t dedicated to our access control system) was difficult. Though I wasn’t directly involved in the decision to migrate from paper-based incident tracking to a computerized system, it only made sense. The ability to see people’s histories and track statistics without having to depend on staff to manually count the number of records in a filing cabinet; all were helpful features and obvious reasons for the switch.

What a great week we just had in St. Pete Beach, Florida at our annual Perspective Users’ Conference!
This year’s conference was our first sell out since Perspective was released, there were many first time attendees (including one literally from the other side of the world—Australia) and it included one of the best sessions I’ve ever seen, as a presenter or attendee. The session I’m referring to is a client panel discussion where we had Delta Air Lines, Raytheon, Monash University and Progress Energy talk about how they use Perspective and the data they get from the program.

It’s less than a month away… our 2012 Perspective Users’ Conference is coming up on March 6th & 7th, 2012 at the TradeWinds Island Grand Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach, Florida. Anticipation is building throughout PPM as we reach the final stages of planning and immerse ourselves in the last minute details. We’re doing everything from evaluating presentations, to choosing meals, to coordinating fun surprises for all of the attendees. It’s going to be a great couple of days in sunny Florida!
We can’t help but be excited about everything this year’s Conference has to offer including introductory sessions for new clients and hands-on access to Perspective’s newest features and functionality (ready to test drive Perspective Mobile?).

All Senior Consultants at PPM 2000 acquire and maintain the ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation—a designation that greatly enables us to effectively help our clients build Perspective and its modules into their Security Program. Recently, our projects started to become more complex, and our clients’ began requesting we work with Project Management Professionals (PMPs).
These PMPs used terms like ‘Project Charter’, ‘Project Sponsor’ and acronyms like ‘EVC’, ‘BAC’ and ‘SPI’. Recognizing our clients’ needs, PPM decided it was time to supplement the CPP offering with some formal Project Management Institute (PMI) education.
Dale, Clint and I began taking courses at a local university working towards a Project Management Certificate. [click to continue…]
