As much as we go into the ASIS Annual Seminar & Exhibits ready to present our latest innovations, the show also gives us the opportunity to find out what needs to come next. What’s everyone asking about? What’s the buzz on the floor? Throughout the three day event, we spent a lot of time talking about integration and interoperability. We collaborated with many of our partners who were at the show—including Microsoft Global Security and Brivo Systems—and we engaged in a number of discussions around cloud-based computing and our SaaS option. With a number of exciting offers to promote and some significant advancements to our product line (both at the show and in development), we had an amazing week in Dallas, and we came home with invaluable feedback that will help us prioritize our development projects to ensure that we continue to address your top Incident Reporting and Investigation Management concerns.
Integration Services
One of the most relevant topics at our booth was Perspective Integration Services, our new Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) Web service that facilitates interoperability and the sharing of data between Perspective and other business applications. We also introduced our PPM 2000 Incident Management Alliance Network and explained our mandate to strengthen the Incident Management process by increasing awareness and the availability of key data at every step of the Incident Management lifecycle, from pre-incident planning, to incident response, to post-incident documentation and analysis.
The attendees quickly grasped the potential for Integration Services and what it means to them… Who are you working with? Can I integrate my access control system with your application? How can we bring VMS footage into Perspective? Is there any way to search Perspective from our CMS system? And, yes, with Integration Services, all of this is now possible! We are working on a number of out-of-the-box integrations that we’ll be announcing over the next few months. In addition, if you have a specific product that you need to integrate with Perspective, let us know. We’ll tell you if a project is already on the drawing board, and, if not, we’ll work with you to make it happen.
Cloud Computing
Another buzz word that many attendees were focusing on was ‘cloud computing.’ As a result, we talked a lot about Perspective SaaS and what makes ‘in the cloud’ applications more attractive to many organizations. Thankfully, with both on-premise and SaaS options, PPM takes that element out of the equation. We’ll help you choose the right licensing model for your organization, but, more importantly, we’ll help you focus on the functionality you need to accomplish your Incident Reporting and Investigation Management objectives.
Microsoft Global Security
Hearing a lot of discussion around the latest in operations center technology, we encouraged attendees to stop by Microsoft Global Security’s booth where they featured their Global Security Operations Centers and how these 24/7 facilities leverage Microsoft solutions together with a number partner products, including Perspective. If you didn’t have a chance to stop by their booth, they also offer GSOC presentations at Microsoft’s Redmond campus.
Brivo Access Control Systems
Another one of PPM’s partners—and a member of our Incident Management Alliance Network—is Brivo Systems. Throughout the show, they demonstrated the integration between the Brivo ACS and Perspective where specific events (e.g., door forced open, invalid card, etc.) logged by the Brivo ACS automatically trigger a Perspective incident. As a result of this escalation to incident status, the in-depth statistical analysis and follow-up investigation management provided by Perspective are now possible.
Comments & Impressions
More generally, a comment that we heard again and again from customers—and even from people who had seen one of our demos in the past—was, “Wow. Perspective has come a long way.” Currently, on Version 2.1, with two more releases actively in the works, Perspective is constantly evolving due to customer feedback and changing technology. We are committed to offering a leading-edge solution, and we will forever keep Perspective at the forefront of what’s possible—and necessary—in our industry.
ASIS Show Special
Remember… our show special is available to everyone who stopped by the booth. It’s 25% off any PPM software, and both new and existing Perspective users can benefit from this very special discount. Did you get your postcard with the details? If not, let us know, and we’ll walk through the ASIS Special Offer with you.
Competitive Upgrade Offer
Another special program that we currently have on the table is our aggressive Competitive Upgrade Offer. For those of you who are using one of our competitor’s Incident Reporting applications, we would value the opportunity to discuss your options for moving to Perspective, including the free migration of your current database. If you aren’t sure if you’re using the best Incident Reporting product for you or if you’re questioning whether or not you can depend on your current vendor, now’s the time to consider your options.
Thanks to Our Supporters
This year’s event was our 21st visit to the ASIS Annual Seminar & Exhibits. Thank you for your interest and support of our products over the past two decades. Incident Management has come a long way, and we’re already planning what comes next… See you in Orlando!
